FRUSTUCK AVENUE – GRIND & PAVE

NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION & CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS

Date Distributed: Monday, June 17, 2019

Maggiora & Ghilotti has been contracted by Town of Fairfax to perform paving work on Frustuck from Wreden Ave to #41 Frustuck. This work was originally scheduled for February, but due to the winter storms we had to delay the work to allow for the subsurface area to dry out. Work will consist of removing the existing roadway and rebuilding with new base rock and asphalt.  The work will require shutdown of the road for 2 days to perform.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE & TRAFFIC CONTROL:

Thursday June 20th– 8AM to 5PM– Road will be closed from #41 Frustuck to Wreden Ave.  Residents affected by closure will need to get their vehicles out prior to work start.  All other residents will need to access Frustruck from Park Ave.  We will be removing the roadway surface to a depth of approximately 10”, we will be installing new base rock same day. Roadway will be approximately 4” down at the end of shift.  We will install ramps at any driveways and at the start/end of the work to allow access on the road overnight.  Please use caution while driving on the rock surface.  Signs will be posted for your safety.

Friday June 21st– 8AM to 5PM– Road will be closed from #41 Frustuck to Wreden Ave.  Residents affected by closure will need to get their vehicles out prior to work start.  All other residents will need to access Frustruck from Park Ave.  We will finalizing the base rock grading and then repaving the street.  Road will be back to normal by end of shift.

We understand this work will be an inconvenience to residents.  We ask for your patience with the work and request your cooperation with crew instruction and posted signage, they are in place for your safety.  We are confident upon completion you will be pleased with the new roadway.
