Rent Stabilization and Just Cause Evictions
At the November 2, 2022 Fairfax Town Council meeting, the Town Council adopted two ordinances to create a just cause eviction and rent stabilization program. Although these new ordinances are in effect, their provisions will not be implemented until sufficient agreements for support have been approved by the Town Council. Upon approval, the Council will set an implementation date by resolution.
Just Cause Evictions Workshop

Amending the Ordinances
Changes to the ordinances were adopted by the Town Council on September 6, 2023 and will be effective October 6, 2023. A copy of the adopted ordinance is linked in the table below.
