December 6, 2023 Highlights

Reorganization of Town Council: Selection of Mayor and Vice Mayor

At the December 6, 2023, Town Council meeting, the Council selected Council Member Barbara Coler to serve as the Town’s new Mayor and Council Member Lisel Blash to serve as the Town’s new Vice Mayor.

Street Sweeping Services

The Council directed staff to move forward with an agreement with Marin Sanitary Services (MSS) for street sweeping services around town for the next three years. Public Works Director Loren Umbertis will work with MSS to map out a street sweeping schedule and share it with residents.

Professional Services Agreement with Fairchild Broms Design for the Interior Remodel of Fire Station 21

The Council approved a professional services agreement with Fairchild Broms Design to prepare construction documents for the interior remodel of Fire Station 21. These construction documents will be used to inform the building application process and a request for construction services bids.

2021 Fairfax Green House Gas (GHG) Inventory Report

The Council heard a presentation on the Town’s 2021 Green House Gas Inventory Report, which highlighted a 26% decrease in emissions by the Town.

Agenda Item #4 Accept Report on Renter Protections Implementation Estimates, Discuss/Consider Pilot Implementation of Rent Stabilization Program, and Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the Town Manager to Enter into an Agreement with ECHO Housing for warm-line informational service in an amount not to exceed $36,000 was moved to a future meeting date.
