Apply to serve on the Fairfax Parks and Recreation Commission!

The Town Clerk’s office is currently recruiting to fill vacancies on Fairfax’s Parks and Recreation Commission (PARC). PARC is a Town Council-appointed Commission which oversees the public parks and recommends and organizes events and activities for Fairfax residents.

Some of the events PARC sponsors are the Brewfest, annual Egg Hunt in Bolinas Park, the Fairfax Festival & Parade in June, a Halloween party for children, and art shows by the Artist-in-Resident. Learn more about this Commission.

Meetings

PARC meets the 2nd Monday of the month in the Fairfax Women’s Club at 7:00 p.m.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Fairfax resident (except for the Open Space and Volunteer Board, which require residency within the 94930 zip code area).
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
    • There are youth memberships available for persons under the age of 18.
  • Applicants are expected to attend at least one meeting of the committee to which they are applying.

Application and Appointment Process

  1. Attend a meeting of the committee you are interested in.
  2. Complete and submit an application..
  3. Interview –  applicants are interviewed by the Town Council at a special meeting. Appointments are made by a formal vote of the Council.
