Road improvements are coming this summer on Scenic Road and Porteous Avenue!
Scenic Road between Azalea Avenue and Manor Road and Porteous Avenue between Bolinas Road and Wood Lane will be receiving a full roadway repaving and improvements to some of the curb ramps, and sections of curbs and gutters starting in mid-August.
Initially, work will be focused on concrete work at curb ramps and other small areas from mid-August to end of the month, then the paving work will commence in early September which will have impacts upon residential vehicular access during work hours. During the day, there will be closures and detours to the roads while work is proceeding but the road will be re-opened at the end of the contractor’s work-day for neighborhood access, though the road surface will be rough in places. At the conclusion of the repaving, new street markings will be placed to replace pre-existing markings that were removed.
Ghilotti Bros. is the General Contractor on the Project. Questions and issues regarding the construction can be directed to Ghilotti Bros Project Manager 415-454-7011 and issues may also be brought to the attention of the Town of Fairfax Department of Public Works Director, Loren Umbertis.
The Project schedule for the entire project is approximately 120 days although the bulk of the disruptive work should be much shorter in duration. The combined total cost for the improvements is approximately $732,000.
