The Town of Fairfax will complete an update to the Housing Element later this year. This will update Fairfax’s housing plan for the period of 2023-2031. The plan includes programs: to ensure that parcels are available to build new housing; to clarify how housing may be permitted; to protect the existing housing supply.
A draft document is currently available for review on the Town’s website and an updated version will be available on November 28, 2023. The project requires the completion of an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and the Town’s Planning Commission will be conducting a public hearing on the draft EIR on November 16, 2023. The revised Housing Element is scheduled to be considered by the Town Council for adoption on December 13, 2023.
