Fairfax recognizes Gun Violence Awareness

Mayor Cutrano has proclaimed the first Friday in June, June 2 as Gun Violence Awareness Day. Next week at the regular Town Council meeting, the Council will present this proclamation to Moms Demand Action and consider a proclamation recognizing the month of June as Gun Violence Awareness Month.


Wear Orange March

Sunday, June 4th | 11:00 a.m.

Join Moms Demand Action, Students Demand Action, political leaders, gun violence survivors, and community partners from around the Bay Area at their annual Wear Orange March across the Golden Gate Bridge!

The group will first gather for a rally at the Marin Vista point and then march across the bridge to San Francisco. Parking near the Vista Point is limited so consider carpooling or taking a taxi/ride share to the rally.

Rally will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. so please plan to arrive on time. Sign up to them know you’re coming!


Fostering gun safety in Fairfax

Did you know that Fairfax Police Department provides services to foster gun safety? These services include:

  • Provide free gun locks to Fairfax residents.
  • Collect any unwanted weapons from any Fairfax resident. Simply call our office and we will come to your residence to safely collect the firearm.

Residents who submit weapons or ammunition can choose to be anonymous, no questions asked.
