Fire Season and Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority Update

Join Supervisor Katie Rice and Mark Brown, Executive Officer of the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority (MWPA) and former Deputy Fire Chief Marin County Fire, for an update on fire season 2020 as well as an update on the work of MWPA, including the mission/goals, the projects/programs throughout County and importantly the local projects planned in the Ross Valley. The update will be held this Monday, November 16th at 6pm via Zoom. All are welcome and participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Measure C, approved by voters in March 2020 established the Marin Wildfire Prevention Authority,to fund state-of-the-art wildfire prevention and preparedness efforts across Marin. The agency has been up and running as of July 1 and working on vegetation management, education, defensible space and home hardening evaluations, evacuation planning and preparedness, a local grant program to support lower income property owners, and more.
