- CREEK CLEANUP ON JULY 25th
Bring the whole family and join the Fairfax Volunteers for the annual Creek Cleanup project on Saturday, July 25th, from 9 a.m. to Noon. Roll up your sleeves and help us clean out the creek. Your efforts will be rewarded during the rainy season when the creeks flow freely without obstructions. Please wear closed toe shoes and meet at the Youth Center/Volunteer Office at 16 Park Road. Earn volunteer hours, meet your neighbors and help make a difference. Snacks and small tools will be provided. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. - ROSS VALLEY SENIORS DO IT ALL!
Meet new people and socialize, learn new things, enjoy meals together and physical activities/games. All are welcome to attend a meeting for $5 or join the Ross Valley Seniors for $20 per year. The Ross Valley Seniors organization is jointly sponsored by the Towns of Fairfax and San Anselmo. Most meetings include lunch and are held at the Fairfax Women's Club on the first Thursday of the month.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 2nd, at the Log Cabin in San Anselmo's Memorial Park and will include a barbecue in the park with a lecture by the American Legion on the history of the log cabin. The Ross Valley Seniors Steering Committee/Board Meeting is the third Monday of every month at 4:30 p.m. at the Bennett House, 53 Taylor Drive in Fairfax. This group plans RVS events and activities. All interested community members and seniors are welcome!

It started June 16th - FUN AND FUNKY ART CLASSES using mostly repurposed materials to make unique projects. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., ages 4 - 6 and 7-10; Thursdays at 10:30, ages 2-3; at the Youth Center next to Peri Park Playground.
NEW MOMS GROUP: Meet other new moms and build local community. Lead by a doula and mom! At the Women's Club, 46 Park Road, 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.

PAVILION PLAYGROUP - Come play inside on the hot summer days! We're opening on Wednesday mornings, 9:30 - 12:30
NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY - Explore and then create artwork with your photos. Ages 4-6; Tuesday 10:30 hike - check web for location; Thursday 10:30 a.m. art class at the Youth Center.

- VOTER REGISTRATION FOR NOVEMBER 3RD ELECTION
If you want to vote in the November 3, 2009 election, you must register to vote by October 19th. October 27th is the last day to request an absentee ballot by mail. You should register as early as possible so that you receive your sample ballot in the mail. You can obtain a voter registration form at Fairfax Town Hall, at the Fairfax Library, at the Post Office or from the Marin County Registrar of Voters' Office, Marin Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, Room 121, San Rafael, CA 94903.
Three of the Fairfax Council terms expire and an election will be held to fill those vacancies. The Council is also considering placing a five-year renewal of the special services tax of $125 per living or business unit on the ballot for renewal (known as Measure "F").
